It's a good radio! There was a write-up in the BVWS Bulletin a couple of years back, and I became involved with the writer (Colin MgLaughlin, RIP) owing to a few design quirks in the AFC circuit which we never resolved.

Good it may have been, although the HT rectifiers are slightly over-run on voltage - plus a few other areas of 'could've done better.'

But notwithstanding that, the one for sale does look a rather stunning specimen! And, as per Amie's post, let's hope it goes to a good home where it will be set to survive another 85 years!

It was collect only so the winning bidder from South Korea ducked out. Back up for sale in the UK only, £21 so far.

Possibly.
Be careful of how you put it on a forum.
I have my thoughts on this but not for discussion on a forum.

I have a friend who sells cars on ebay, he has a squad of bidders who bring the price up, this works surprisingly often and he gets the price he wants.
So scams are out there but I'd not like to say this is the case with the above.

Someone got a good buy from this seller a couple of days ago: A nixie tube VTVM. I contacted the seller as it was listed collection only to ask if they would consider packing it if I organised a courier. I did not get a reply and it sold for 99p! Maybe the nixies will end up in a clock.
