Soft touch finishes going nasty

Has anyone tried that lemon flavored sticky label killer on this stuff?
I threw my old computer mouse away without trying it.

I had this happen with a pure dab portable  about a year ago. Methylated  spirit worked very well, with a bit of elbow grease and some mutton cloth. It left a glossy black finish and strangely did not damage the white screen printing.

The material is called Nextel .

I cleaned the black goo of a Pure radio, using an industrial Lemon Scented pump spray, it was marked Highly Flammable.

Yes that is the stuff.
I have a screw top can of it but chucked the offending computer mouse away before trying it.
It is commonly sold in a spray can as label killer in stationary stores.

I find 3M Scotchweld Cleaner Spray (orange citrus based) can do wonders on sticky messes.
It's my go-to product for cleaning nasty label residue on test equipment cases. Nice smell as well, for a change!
But again, it can attack some plastics so try it with caution first.
I have cleaned a few mice that went gooey, and some remote controls, just as Jeffrey says.
