The space problem is getting worse. The radios are breeding I think. 

Thankfully I no longer do TVs

My entire stock of  TV valves must now go, I have hundreds of new boxed and thousands of unboxed, mostly pulls.

All the "P" series, "30" series, "20" series and the others like EHT rectifiers, Thyratrons, B8A, B9A, Octal and lots of later big line power valves. Even some RCA  American TV valves. From sets in the 50s to the end of the valve era.

If anyone wants any please send me a list of what you could use, costs will be at absolute rock bottom price as whatever is left will go to the auction on 15th September where I am aware they will attract very little in the way of return.

Could I suggest the original box price, in decimal currency! for the new ones and half that for a pair of pulls?

The more you want, the better the price advantage on the posting costs.

Whilst digging around sorting valves for other, thanks guys for ordering, I have found some interesting "valves".

I have used DM70 or DM71 , maybe one of each as one is wire ended, t'other is B8D base. This is the battery set tuning indicator with 1.4v heater and the exclamation mark display.

EA50 diode with B3G base.

Some miniature wire ended thyratrons. 2 types, 22 and 30

and a new boxed PL802/T, the semiconductor substitute for PL802 video output valve which is now very hard to find.

Some of the more unusual items to turn up this week.

Some mains sets used them with the 1.35V tapped off a cathode resistor. Both tuning indicators and tape recorders, though the sense is the other way, more -ve (stronger signal) reduces it to a dot.

I also have changed direction. Doing no Amateur and little electronics or restoring. I'd like a keen local teenager to take on a lot or all of the stuff I have. I'll keep some of the Vintage stuff and some of the Amateur rigs.

Mostly I'm writing, which means I also need to read other people's books. Reading outside the genres I write in helps most. TV & Cinema seems just a time waster.

I thought so too but the wire ended one has wires not in the B8D spacing or number, only 5 I think.

The other wires are just cut short. They really are exactly the same valve. I have a good few of both. Philips also wrote the only difference was the cropping.

Though the Philips ECH81 and ECH83 is a more curious case of exactly the same valve with same base and simply only stamped differently, they only seem different due to different data sheet conditions. Not even selected on test as ECH81 and ECH83. Pure marketing!
