I knew about the TC generator. That was a good learning exercise before the standards converter.

Didn't know about the LOPT. Or perhaps I'd forgotten.

Diode split was a clever idea to utilise the small size and good reliability of modern EHT diodes. Make the self capacitance of the winding work for you rather than against you.

welcome to the forum.
Congratulations and well done building a Hedghog. As far as I know your the first to successfully build one. It is a great achievement especially with all the obstacles that I inadvertently put in your way. Thanks for pointing the errors out and for the post its great to get feedback. I am sure your post will encourage others that are thinking of building a Hedghog.

I really like your choice of case. A slimline Hedghog!  I had thought that case would be a tight fit but you managed it. Your heat-sink looks more substantial than what I use.

One great advantage of building something is if it does brake down you will be able to repair it.

My parts list is what I actually used which were gathered from many sources over a number months. I'd be interested to see your parts list. Getting all the parts from one or two suppliers would make it easier.

The test card generators was a step along the way albeit a small one and also the modulator that I built was another piece of the jigsaw puzzle. It all helped.

That's looking really good. Makes me want to get round to doing my TV62.

PS: I noted where that picture was hosted and had a look at your website. You've certainly done a lot of work in documenting Britain's industrial heritage. Judging by your Shropshire location you can't be far from Ironbridge and its plethora of sites.

Now I have attachment privileges, here's a spreadsheet with my version of Frank's Hedghog parts list with my choices of suppliers and stock numbers.

I've probably made my own typos, so please check it and let me know if you spot any. Any remaining errors are my own fault.

There may well be savings to be made from cheaper sources for the more expensive or numerous components, but I wanted to make it easier and minimise the number of different suppliers.

I had it in mind to build a Hedghog before I bought the TV62 and the two have gone together very well! Apart from providing a wonderful source of 405-line vision and sound on any channel in Band I or III, it makes a great test signal generator which helped a lot finding various faults during the restoration.
