Very nice to see the pic with the indicator working :-) i wonder how long this hasnt been powered up for ? its amazing to see it coming back to life. that sounds like a good idea with the speaker connectors. The safer the better! i could probably come over on Thursday morning or Monday mornig if you will be in?

I have not had much time on this one since we last discussed it.
Last week we had to go to a funeral down south so I have slipped a day or two behind.
There is a repair that will take a couple of hours on the second channel due to a soldered joint having come adrift in a very difficult location where I can#t even see it let alone remove the correct components in order to see it.
It is a matter of tracing it electrically and then removing the component that the ends of the faulty circuit emerge from beneath.
It is a fiddly job but it can be done.

Yes there have been a few things slowing me down.
Once it is electrically sorted I will finally do the connectors for the speakers. I have located a pair of double switched sockets that can be connected up using common plugs from music shops gaining an extra protection circuit.
I have used a fair number of capacitors.
The little fan in the power supply will never work due to it having been linked out of the circuit. It might be too noisy anyway so not of any great value.
The parts are not very expensive so no worries about money right now.

I have found a fault in the second channel and fixed it. There is a bit of noise to sort out on the same channel and then it will just be the speaker sockets.

Hi Simon. What kind of connectors will i need to get hold of to fix to my speaker cables? I can get some ordered

They will be 1/4 inch jack plugs of the same type that are common on guitars.
A couple of the big can capacitors need to be rebuilt as they have failed to open circuit.

I have a few okd guitar lead laying around which i can use the jack connectors from. Is it a big job to rebuild the capacitors?
