Valve audit time - JAN 6206/ CV5899

Following on from other threads discussing subiniature valves, I was just checking stock (as I do in the spring) and I have a *lot* of these (>100), NIB...

JAN/CV 6206 / CK5899 datasheet

Any ideas, apart from headphone amps?

Make up a pair of PC speakers using series/parallel transformers and a two valve phase splitter.
I have been mulling over a box of EF80s myself.
You should get about 2 whats per channel.

Use as the VAS stage in a high power audio amplifier? It can be a problem finding transistors that work well (low Cob) at the high voltages required, so this might be an interesting alternative...

The max plate dissipation is only about 800mW, but I could do a PC speaker pair - that's a nice idea...

Triode-strap them and use a small audio o/p tx...

Hmmm...

You can use a small mains transformer as long as it has a series parallel primary. Something like 6 VA will be fine and if it has also got two primaries you have more choice over speakers.
