I thought the link above would prove of use to novice lathe owners and I also learned that whilst turning Titanium or Magnesium that it can catch fire; attempting to put the fire out with water would result in disaster.

I note removing the chuck key before setting the lathe in motion is repeated a number of times which is important.

Many useful tips, and as you say, with an emphasis on workshop safety.
