Going back over this set.
Cabinet ply back with old scratched lacquer on the inside, held with 4 countersunk wood screws.
Cabinet front too thick, the inside is crudely recessed for the nuts on the spindles, looks to have been done, after they the holes were drilled, with a chisel.
Framing inside the cabinet roughly cut to the curve, lacks symmetry.
Crude bent bits of aluminium screwed in the top as rudimentary heat shields, grounded to the chassis with loose bits of solid core wire.
Speaker held in with 11 wood screws of assorted sizes and heads, 7 of them in holes that have been drilled in the basket edge in no particular positions.
Chassis has unused holes, some partially cut into by rough cut slots in the front for access to the trimmers/coils.
Disparity of parts, ancient Ferranti choke, mad mix of carbon resistors and paper capacitors, all sorts of odd fasteners.
Smoothing capacitor can held in by silly modified clamp like no other I have ever seen.
Soldering of components very haphazard and poor.
Tuning scale poorly held in with odd tiny screws allowing heat to distort it badly.
Tuning scale 'pointer' a light slot in a piece of odd shaped metal held to the tuning slow motion drive wheel at a crazy angle with one nut and bolt.
