£1125.0.0 . . . probably too many "1"s: an easy typo to make, especially if the ad. was written in a hurry. To me, £125.0.0 sounds much more likely & believable.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, Professional (Not Tv repair Eq) was very expensive, When I was a student with Marconi (60s) I remember that scope probes were over a ton and a small voltage regulator board about 2" x 2" with half a dozen components cost £125. In the mid 70s in Italy the call out fee for Philips medical Eq was nearly £300, with a similar hourly rate. A microwave link cost £150K + and took a year of testing before finalizing the contract. Not like today when an 800Mbt/s link costs 1400$ (eq only) and can be bunged-in in a few hours.

). During '68 - '69, my accommodation was in digs. For full-board, seven days a week, the charge was £3.15. My annual take home pay, before deductions, was £680 per annum. And, remarkable as it seems looking back, I managed to save a fair bit of cash, too.
