I now have the cabinet for the set. The above is the chassis married again to it's long lost cabinet.
Looks rather smart.
I'll keep David's cabinet safe here till I see him again next year. I'm sure it will house another chassis sometime in the future.

And here is the chassis that will fill the cabinet. Bought on eBay last month this is the correct  Pye type 65A chassis for the recently made cabinet.    Like the Pye Ireland set I restored last year the chassis it is in a rusty state.  Unfortunately all the valves have OC filaments.  TP25, VP23, HL23DD and QP25.   I've already found replacements for the VP23 and HL23DD in the form of the ex-services ARP12 and ARP8.  I'll have a TP25 and a QP25 somewhere in the shop.  The Mullard KLL32 can be used as a replacement for the QP25.
All the components will have to be removed from the chassis so that it can be repainted, this one is light green.

Trevor has passed the cabinet over to me so now it's time to restore the chassis back to working order. Like my Made in Ireland model 69A the chassis will have to be stripped of all it's components prior to repainting it a light green colour.
The circuit of the 65A is identical to the 69A except for the position of the tuning scale. Same valve lineup: TP25, VP23, HL23DD, QP25.

Hi Kalee,
According to the Malloy and Poole book some 67A sets employ a different range of valves.
Mullard 2 volt international octal types: KCF30, KF35, KBC32 and KLL32. No alterations to the circuit.
The Mullard KCF30 is in fact is a Mazda TP25 on an I O base.

My 67A has the same valve line-up as your 65A, Geordie (MO valveholders fitted), though interesting to know that the Mullard IO series was also used!

I had quite a lot of fun with the drive and output transformers. Hope yours are OK!

And just like my 69A the push-pull driver transformer is OC windings. Ed can do the rewind.
I like these 2 volt filament valve radios. Get them working right and the performance is almost as good as a mains radio. Unfortunately, all the valves in the 65A have OC filaments. So far I've found an ARP12 = VP23 and an AR8 which is similar to the HL23DD. Looking for TP25 and the QPP valve, Mazda QP25.

Prior to painting all the components must be removed from the chassis, this messy task was done today. Still looking for a Mazda QP25. If one can't be found I do have a Mullard KLL32 which is electrically similar except that it has the international octal base.
Will have to find an automobile colour to match the green of the Pye chassis. The push-pull driver transformer has open circuit windings, it was the same with the made in Ireland model 69A.  Chassis of that receiver was painted blue.
