Lamplugh radios from Birmingham

NIck, some of the Igranic ones have "what are the wild waves saying" printed on them along with a wavelength chart, it would be a nice touch.

Nice result, stuff usually turns up eventually, a bit of personal history too.

Nick, you might have already seen this, but I'll post it up anyways, Lamplugh receivers, a general manufactures list and types as of Feb. '26, WW magazine page 200:

Is yours the 1030?

Thanks for the link - I'd seen that list before, and yes, I believe ours is the 1030.

There is a 1018 (1926) for sale at the moment in the USA but its in pretty poor condition (corroded with no tubes).

That's worth having if you have the resources, I'm sure that dial/escutcheon assembly would go again, valves shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Hi folks,
Many years ago, I was given a set which has been languishing in my garage that might be a Lamplugh as the two tuning dials are marked as such.
Its a pity that there is only one picture of a Lamplugh on radiomuseum so I could positively identify my set.
I must dig it out and take a photo.
Both tuning knob holes have been broken away as they are very near the edge of the bakelite housing and the rubber 'tyre' drives are hard as iron!
I have been thinking in terms of replacing both drives with something of similar vintage to make it workable once again.

What are your views of this?
