May have been a euphemism like rock salmon for dog fish. Direct translation is "street rabbit"

I've been to Belgium quite a lot in the past and I didn't think they ate pussy.

I suppose red sauce would be more political than racist, though I've seen several lobster coloured individuals around recently since the big yellow nuclear furnace has been in the skies again....
