You can take that electrician tip one stage further like I did.
I ties a CAT5 cable to a redundant gas pipe and pulled it through along with the bit of string for the next cable to go through the newly vacated space.

Thread drift is not uncommon here. as Jeffrey says, but it would make much more sense to start a new thread about the restoration in the Vintage Valve & Transistor Radios section or the Restoration Stories section.

Not only is that a neater solution, it makes it much easier for other interested parties to find it.

Welcome to the forum. Nottingham is a cracking city, used to stomp about the place causing trouble in my youth. there's some nice parks, Wollaton Park and the Arboretum as well a few good music pub's.

Only just noticed this reply... Yes I know the Cuckoo, dad used to go in there, he'd always bring me a bag of niblets. My niece still lives there. My wife & myself went to line dancing socials at the village hall till it caught fire, we now go to East Leak...

Welcome. Not too strict from my sometimes wandering experience.

Me? done a fair number of restorations of UK, US, French, German, Aus and NZ radios. Maybe able to help with probs.

Silicon covered wire is the way to go. Can be bought at most BVWS swap meets. Can get thinner (small sets) from the Web and China.
