A wonderful, comprehensive archive film (thank you) from 1954, and I like to think that in the future it will be broadcast again on 405-lines.
1954 was the year of my own personal 'dawn of television'. I was a four-year-old fascinated by the family Pye console set, and attempted to look behind the screen at the back of the picture but didn't get very far! I dimly remember seeing that Frederick Ashton ballet extract 'Facade'. As part of the Demonstration Film, it must have been often repeated.
