Ah-ahh found the K aerial on Bill Wrights site & as I suspected it's a vertical dipole with a forwards sloping director so a bit like an X, thanks for link.... Another interesting fact (well it is to me) I've found out is that there were 3 types of X aerial: The Antex where the back upper element was connected to centre of co-ax & the other 3 were connected to braid; a type where the back elements were a backwards sloping dipole & front a forwards sloping director; & a type where the front was a forwards sloping dipole & the back a backwards sloping reflector = a sort of bodged up H..
