Would an HDMI extender provide an answer? Something like this:

That is a possibility, thanks. It would need an HDMI splitter as the Virgin box only has the one HDMI output and we use that for our TV downstairs. It would also need a new cat 6 cable run in.
I am surprised it needs 2 power adaptors, surely you can run POE on cat 6.
