I have pulled out from the back of the workshop 3 hardback volumes of Modern Practical Radio and Television. They were first published in 1946. They also have a volume of Radio Circuits and Data. Full of interesting information with a valve equivalents list at the back. There is even a Sulphuric Acid Table and an Accumulator Discharge Table!
Those were the days, going down to the local radio shop to get your Accumulator charged up......but sadly I can't even remember those days. I can remember installing an HMV stereomaster and the customer asking me, if I had brought a box of needles with me though!
