Good , easy, E-Mail client

I have been using OE Classic for years but now have problems with it that cant seem to be solved.

Time to try something else: any good, easy to use ones out there?

Mozilla have tried hard to break Thunderbird. Turn off "remote content" and read acknowledgement because both tell spammers you exist and the "Remote Content" also can load malware.

Also Thunderbird settings and content can be copied to Linux.

All flavours of Outlook are prone to being pawned. Spent 30 years replacing them. Thunderbird can import existing downloaded emails and to an extent settings. Also supports OAuth for gmail, MS Mail, etc.

I use K9 mail on Android because the stock email client simply gives all the credentials to Google and is really an app communicating with a Google server, just like GMail. The K9 leaves POP3 content on the mail server, so I have the same account in Thunderbird on PC with "don't delete on download, delete on server after 20 days).

A very long time ago I used Eudora, but it was ASCII only so had to be ditched.

I used the free one for quite a while, until I found about something embedded in mails called a Tracking Pixel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spy_pixel . Paying the one off lifetime personal use of a hair below £50 the email client blocks tracking or spy pixels.

I imported my Outlook archives without missing a beat.

Tracking pixels don't work / are blocked in any email client that allows disabling "remote content", such as Thunderbird, which is on Linux, Mac and Windows.

The emclient is an annual subscription model (expensive if not personal) for stuff that's free on Thunderbird for the last 25+ years. A Life sub is currently €90. It's also windows only (though they claim MacOS, but I can only see a Windows download, so no migration to Mac or Linux desktops/laptops or Linux on ChromeOS. Certainly their marketing comparison is dishonest or at least misleading. Who are they? Can't see on web site.

K9 is currently the best email client on the Playstore for Android and free.

And if you need a commercial license, expect to pay an anual subscription. Personal users can use it FOC, or pay a once off fee of £50 for a full raft of feature and for life.

I can't force you to like it or use it. But don't misrepresent the incorrect fact that it needs an annual subscription.

The free version is crippled compared to free email like Thunderbird.

I have been using thunderbird on my windows and Linux pcs for quite a while now, there is now a beta thunderbird for android. It seems to be perfectly stable and I have switched to it from the Gmail client software. All good.
