LW only radio for Test Match Special

A friend has just donated this little radio to the Broadcast Engineering Museum. He used to listen to Test Match Special on it.

I've never seen one before and haven't yet been able to find a reference to it online. It has a volume/on-off control and tunes over all of the LW band. Headphones only.

Does anyone know anything about it?

There's a little info about it on UKVRR -- there's a thread on LW only radios. This one apparently has a TA2003P chip and two 2SC9014 transistors.  There's speculation that it's a cheap import, a sports radio that, for the US market was MW, but a version was made as a promotional item for LW.

I remember seeing them offered in the Radio Times - hard to say when, 80s/90s? Could even be as late as 2001 for all I know as we were subscribers then and ordered the initial Pure Evoke when it was first offered there. It's much more compact than my sole LW-only radio,
