The next project: A Dynatron Nomad, modified by me a mere 50 years ago with a mains psu.
I thought the mains psu was screwed having previously measured the voltages which seemed to have differing + and - voltages.
Poked about a bit on the kitchen worktop (as you do when you can't get in the office because it's now a junk room) only to find that the said voltages were +8.9 and -8.9V respectively.
Randomly poking about with a probe I found that there was an intermittent contact on the loudspeaker, which then burst into life.
I'll have to be careful with it because it was "repaired" back in the day with the much loved Henley Solon and my eyes most certainly aren't what they were.
