3M had one of these for testing 206 in 2", 1", and 0.5".
What I didn't know was there was a version where all the electronics for the channels were above the deck instead of 16 above and 8 below.
Mind you "our" machine had a sad outing when the room aircon leaked water through the ceiling one night while the thing was switched on.
Fixing that must have been fun.
IIRC the affected bits were sent back for "repair" which seemed to consist of running some solder over the somewhat green pcb traces.
Curiously enough, running those three differing tapes widths on the same capstan seemed to do odd things to the tape path after a couple of years.
What endless fun it was.
I was glad to leave.
