Another newbie reporting for duty!

Previously did a bit of refurb work on our old family wireless: a Bush VHF54, which my dad acquired from one of his drinking pals around 1966/7.

Its still used from time-to-time as a novelty act, to listen to Radio Caroline via 199metres medium wave: http://captainbodgit.blogspot.com/2018/0...n-199.html

Also have a Philips wireless (I think its a B3G 75U) and a Hacker RP33 transistor radio. Both have been sitting around for the last 35 years or so, waiting for me to start work on bringing them back to life. But its the Hacker which I've just picked up and will post about in the coming days.

I assume its OK to add my RP33 posts to an existing thread (maybe this one: https://golbornevintageradio.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=2008&highlight=hacker+rp33), but if this is going to upset anyone, please shout now!

I'm basically getting back into tech DIY after a break of a couple of years.

Currently playing with BirdNet-Pi and have just flashed my Plusnet router with OpenWRT.

I also haunt the ww2talk forum, and sometimes listen to 80m via webSDR while shaving in the morning!

I had a look at your Captainbodgit website. At first I thought you were planning to actually transmit on MW. Then I saw the circuit and realised that you were making what we often call a pantry transmitter. There are several published designs. One of the best known is the Minimod: https://oshwlab.com/mycoopzone/test_copy I'm sure it will give a better modulated envelope than you're getting.
