Arrived last week, this rather rusty home built TRF sound receiver. It looks horrible but I'm certain it is restorable and will be useful for a future TV construction project, assuming I ever finish off the backlog of work to be dealt with at the present time. The most important two being the Baird T5 and the Philips 563A.
The valves are two EF50s, a 6Q7GT and a rusty 6V6. If the unit is to be used in a TV receiver having 4volt valves the 6Q7 and 6V6 will be replaced with 4volt types such as Mazda HL41DD and PEN45. A special heater auto transformer will supply the heaters of the EF50s.
Geordie McBoyne.
