Gutter brush? Anyone had it?

This is a circular brush that comes in long lengths and fits inside the gutter.  It is intended to keep leaves and seeds out of the gutter and growing in the moss that comes off the roof.

We are unfortunate in having two huge trees, at the front of the house, with big leaves and seeds with wings so if it works it could be an advantage as at the moment the gutters need clearing every 2 -3 years and that isnt cheap.

Roof has rough cast concrete tiles I bet.  The wavy Marley Modern ones seem the worst for moss growth.

Kill the moss which causes the problem on the north side mostly with Tide washing powder in punctured plastic bags catapulted or poked up with a long pole to the ridge tiles. They will slowly leach out the bio-detergent and bleach which will kill the moss if you get them a couple of feet apart along the top of the roof.

Galvanised chicken wire rolls in the gutters will keep the leaves out for a while.

You can get long poles with a bend on the end that you can couple to a hose or power washer to wash out the gutters from ground level.

It works with moss as well. I dont know what tiles you have, or perhaps a thatch roof.

Aus mostly uses "corrugated iron ", although it has progressed to many colours and shapes.

Best way to get rid of it is an industrial gernie gun ( high pressure water ). 

I have "revived " a few terra cotta tiled rooves using this tecnique.

Had the roof on the N side cleaned and treated and the gutter is due replacement and adding the Gutter Brush for the leaves and seeds.

I considered it when I replaced my gutters, but I didn't follow through as I believe they would need taking out, cleaning and replacing. So every now and then I just scoop the gutters out.

Yes I have used it on an extension roof which kept getting a lot of leaves and Sycamore seeds landing on it and blocking the gutters. It helped a lot eliminating blockages but I still found it needed cleaning out about once a year.

Given me some reassurance.  Being done as we speak.
Cleaning once a year is not on as its high up and window cleaners want silly money for doing it.  Just have to live with it being grubby.

I dont look up, only the wife who worried about these things more than me
