Recently repaired two Bush valve radios. The first was a DAC90 which would only work upside down. The cause of the fault turned to be the upper tuning slug in the first IF transformer had become detached from the adjustment screw.
In previous repairs of this kind it was a simple matter of removing the screws which attach the bar that carries the adjustment screw. No so with this one, the bar was rivetted into position. The rivets were drilled out, the bar removed and sure enough the ferrite tuning slug was detached from the screw. Super glue used to reattach the tuning slug.
After reassembly it was found no adjustments were required to peak up the IF transformers.
The other set was a DAC90A. The two pin mains connector was broken, didn't have a replacement so the mains lead was wired directly to the switch. The attachment shows how it was done. An insulating disc will be made to cover the screws. Also needing attention was replacement of certain TCC 343 wax capacitors. All components connected to pin 4 of the UL41 were relocated to an adjacent tag on the component group board.
