Frame aerial

I have a Marconi T11DA radio, not my usual sort of thing, but my friend had it advertised, it did not sell and I took a bit of a fancy to it. It has an internal frame aerial, the winding is presently "attached" to the frame with dried out sellotape. I would just like some advice as to the best way to reattach it. My thought is to use hot glue: I do have a hot glue gun. There is also sellotape binding the winding together which could have been there from new, I am quite happy to do this again unless there is a better suggestion.

I don't know about the best method, but if you're going to use a sellotape type of tape again, then use what's often called "Magic Tape". It dries out much less than ordinary sellotape, doesn't go yellow and is less nasty to whatever it's on. While it's not recommended for document preservation, it's not a bad substitute for archive quality sticky tape.

I have got the same model inherited from my great aunt. It is now 110 volt only due to a duff dropper cable.
I stuck the aerial back on with conformal coating and left the chassis on its back for a few hours to set.
Without the dropper they run on 85 volts. The output pentode is if anything under run so there is still plenty of audio running at the sum of the heater voltages.

Thanks for the replies. I used some magic tape to hold the winding together; I always have some, as I use it for repairing books and drawings. I used a little hot glue from the glue gun and it worked very well. I did one corner at a time and clamped it with some tiny toolmakers clamps, which give a nice controllable, broad and parallel clamping action. I will give aprogress report!
