Still trying to find a way to reduce the file size of pictures so I can post them. When I Google file re-sizer all is get is info on how to reduce the size of the actual picture, i.e. "cropping" etc. In WIN XP there used to be a lovely little add on that put a file size reducer in the drop-down menu for a JPG etc. It reduced the file size significantly. No such thing in Win 10 though!

You can send the pics to Outlook...this will request what size pics you want. Then you can down load back to your docs etc.

Or use Irfanview which can do a lot more besides.

I use both approaches. A right click resizer for quick and dirty file size reduction, Irfanview for more detailed work.

Hi.
I take the photos on my phone and email to myself, you can then select their size before sending the email. Then I just attach them to the Forum and you don't need to upload them one at a time you can upload 5 in one go.

Why keep putting all these gizmos on the PC? I have Corel Paint Shop Pro, does all my image tasks and I know how to use it so use that.

A right click image resizer will resize any number of images in two clicks. You can't get easier than that.

Paintshop Pro may well be a very good program for editing images but it needs a licence (don't know if there's a free version) and is much more complex than needed for simple image resizing. If you have it, know it and like it that's great. Otherwise it's large hammer for cracking small nuts.

As I said in another thread, Microsoft Paint will do it, and should be on a Windows machine by default.

It's really just a case of opening the image in Paint, and then clicking on Resize. Then you can enter the new size - you have a choice of pixels or percentage (try 50%). Then save it (or Save As to use a different filename if you wish to keep the original).

OK, there might be even easier methods, but this isn't exactly difficult, and there should be nothing to install.

I use Gwenview.
It has resize and crop in the side bar.
I have never had trouble uploading 1024X768.

But that's for Linux; Trev757 is using Windows 10.

Trev, any reason why Paint isn't an option for you? At least in the short term to help you get the images on the forum?

MS Image Resizer is incredibly simple for singles or multiples.

I am pretty sure that there is a windows version as well.
