An interesting programme, about accurately recreating an historic recording.

I guess they were interested in reproducing the difficulties experienced by the 1913 orchestra and sound recordists but possibly more interesting would be to create an mechanical acoustic recording device of optimal design.

   

Rather than cramming the orchestra around a 20" diameter horn perhaps sit them in front of something bigger.
