In 2015 a group of people had a little celebration at Ally Pally the night before the builders were due to move in. The theatre reopened in 2018 but the studios are stuck. Becuase they found more asbestos than expected they ran out of money. You can see the curent state in El Portillo's programme. From about 23 minutes:

When I was there in 2015 we had the chance to see the incredible woooden understage machinery. This is a place that few are likely to be able to visit. Conservators have done a 3D scan of that space: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVJff2ye738
