The first is the capacitor charging and discharging. The second capacitor is after a resistor and smooths out the 100Hz sawtooth, which is normal for full-wave. Duncan Amps have a nice PSU designer/simulator. It's why there is usually two capacitors with a choke or resistor between them. There is a maximum value for the first one due to pulse load on the rectifier. The one after the resistor or choke can be larger.
