Re-Reading Walsll Transformers description in their e-Bay listing, I can see that you're right, Tony. I was misled by their heading , which reads something like '2 output' Transformers, and ordered a 6VA one intending to use it as an O/P Tx The VA rating should have told me otherwise. That'll teach me to read descriptions more carefully in future! Apologies to other forum members for inadvertently misleading them.

You can use them for simple triode wired amplifiers for things like computer speakers and other non HiFi things.
They need to have two primaries for 120/240V operation.

A very easy mistake to make as the wording is ambiguous. We would normally call such transformers 'mains transformers' as, to be sure, the word 'output' to many of us infers audio output. Another case of buyer beware, unfortunately. Don't assume that I am incapable of making assumptions of a similar nature, with commensurate financial loss!

I can probably return the transformer I've ordered (an email from eBay informs me that my order has been posted) as I'm unlikely to use it anytime soon.

Thanks for that link, David. I'd forgotten about Past Times Radio, TBH. However I've since found that I can purchase a new OPT made by Oxford Electronic Products from 'That's Audio' in Kidlington, Oxon for £15, which is an ideal replacement, electronically and physically for the Bush OPT, so will no doubt buy one of those. I'll keep an eye on the PTR listing, though.
