Basically, after checking the internal wiring & fuses in this light, which had been repaired in the Autumn of 2012, when various internal parts were replaced, I fitted a new 24v, 250 watt lamp, powered the unit up, and, after a few minutes, the new lamp failed. I then re-checked and measured the voltage being supplied to the lamp which was 25vAC(within spec.). Checking the circuit board revealed no obvious faults, though it had been repaired almost 7 years ago. The two relays on the Scandriver PCB work correctly, the 5v supply is present, and, as far as I can check, the mains transformer is O.K., so I don't know what caused the new bulb to fail after only a few minutes. Anyone know more about these lamps than I? Is there anythiing I'm issing? A replacement control PCB would cost maybe £50, so I don't wish to order one if the fault is elsewhere!
