A failure today, a Goblin TimeSpot radio.
I thought I would restore this one, had it a while.
I knew the clock was beyond fixing, someone had pulled it to bits, the coil was O/C.
But on looking at the set I realised that there was just too much to do.
The energised speaker though electrically ok is seized solid with a rip in the cone.
The 6Q7G has its top knocked off like a hard boiled egg.
On turning the chassis over, many replacement parts badly fitted were revealed, some terrible soldering and doubtful wiring.
Along with a missing back, it was just too much to try to restore, everywhere I looked it had been messed with.
So regretfully it has been stripped for parts.
It does mean that there is now a fair condition cabinet with no beetle damage available to anyone who wants it.
For absolutely ZERO, Nothing, FREE. I can take it to Golborne on Sunday.
