Is there any reason why a Technics Cassette Deck model RS-X990 cannot be used with a Sony amplifier model TA-d505 or TA-D707 by connecting it's 'Line in' & 'Line out' terminals to the 'Video1' inputs & outputs on the Sony Amplifier? Obviously the Technics ribbon cable connections aren't compatible with those of the Sony amplifiers mentioned, which are part of 1990s Sony HiFi Systems, but I have used a TEAC W-600R Cassette deck for several years connected to a Sony TA-D505 in the manner described. Not having seen the Technics deck yet, I see no reason why it cannot also be so connected, provided it's controls can be operated without the ribbons being connected.
