The Pilot T105 is the last of the "Little Maestro" series of small low cost radios and is best performer of all, in fact my set is receiving the local one watt hospital station Radio Tyneside almost as well as the mighty Pilot X65B which was made twenty years earlier in 1936.
Could this excellent performance be because the T105 employs the UCH81 triode-heptode frequency changer valve?
The conversion conductance of the ECH81/UCH81 is said to be so good that the requirement for an RF amplifier is not necessary for good performance. ECH81 Gc = 0.775ma/V
