Sounds an odd one doesn't it.
Got some valves that I need to re-metalise with Electrolube EMC spray for the Zetavox ST. In the past I have used spray shellac, as a primer, which seems to have good adhesion to cleaned glass. However, having used it since I know that Vitrea 160, glass paint, has fantastic adhesion so want to try this. Application is done as I have it in 'stores' but then, after 24 hours, it should be baked for 40 mins at 160 deg C. !!
Now this is scary as I don't know if the valve will like this? Apart from the electrodes, particularly the cathode, how will the Bakelite base fare?
Thinking of backing the temp off to say 100 C or less?
Have checked in a test already that the EMC spray is fine on the cured glass paint.
Anyone any ideas, thanks Gary
