The water feed into the house is via plastic pipe, it emerges in the kitchen where it connects to the branch in a tee in a copper water pipe that goes on as the houses cold water supply, the right hand side of the tee goes to feed the kitchen cold tap, the left hand side of the tee goes to feed the cold tap (bath) in the bathroom and then on to the cold water cistern, running more or less parallel and in close proximity to the copper cold water pipe is the copper hot water pipe which feeds the hot tap in the kitchen and the hot tap (bath) in the bathroom, it starts life at the top of the hot water tank, the cold water cistern (plastic) is close to the hot water tank, so far so good.
There are also two copper pipe runs for the central heating radiators, the flow and return, these obviously start life at the boiler (woodburner) The radiator heating is a pumped system with the usual pump and electrical thermostats on the hot water tank and on the flow and return pipes at the boiler, the boiler has four water connections, the outlets are domestic hot water flow and return, central heating flow and return, cross flow connected, the hot water tank also has an immersion heater fitted, the hot water tank heats from the boiler via gravity, so far so good.
Earth bonding is the question, where?
To recap, plastic pipe incomer for the water supply, from then on all plumbing is in copper with brass compression fittings in some places, all taps are metal, I will also add that all waste pipes/soil pipes are plastic throughout including external underground runs, the kitchen sink is stainless steel, the bath is plastic as will be the bathroom basin (vanity basin) when I get round to fitting one, that basins taps will also be metal, the copper pipes are already in position (blanked off) for the proposed basin, the waste pipe for the said will be all plastic.
