Data on Radar CRT VCR511

Hi.
Does anyone have any data on this CRT? I have searched the web to no avail except for a mention in the Kew archives but the information is of no use!!
Is it 12" or larger? What phospor does it use? It is based on the electrostatic designs of the VCR97 et al.

It's in South London and I'll be in the Clapham and Dulwich areas over the weekend so if you want it I might be able to collect for you. Seems to be advertised for sale elsewhere too.

Thanks very much Guys. The afterglow at 15 seconds makes it a bit useless for TV so I won't be bidding on it!!

Some of the long persistance CRTs had an initial blue flash together with a long yellow afterglow. This was useful for some radar systems. By using a blue filter these CRTs could be used for a TV display. The table in WW doesn't say which, if any, of the CRTs are of that type.

Going way off topic, in that very same issue of WW, a certain Mr Casey (no relation of our Terry I suppose) wrote an article which could be taken as seminal in the world of audiophoolery. See pp299-302.

That's exactly what is being done in the GEC BT8161 reconstruction project using a CV1835 12" radar tube. I just wanted to know whether the VCR511 had different phosophors.

No relation of mine that I know of, and I was only four at the time but ...

Seems perfectly reasonable to me ...!
