I've never known why they don't get a real English Speaker, show them what needs to be done and let them write it down.
Many Moons ago, with the same Bloke, we were fitting a Cooker Hood at his last House. It was, I believe, Italian. There was the usual Safety guff followed by Assembly Instructions, with Pictures. It then said 'Lay the Unit down on the Ground of the Plan'. There was a very complex Diagram with it including lots of Measurements, and more Instructions in the same vein. No matter how hard we tried we couldn't make any sense of it. In the end we offered it up to the Wall, marked the Fixing Holes, Drilled and Plugged and hung it up. As far as I know it's still there. Perhaps that what it meant all along, but who knows.
