Here in Noth Oxfordshire we have had sleet & snow overnight, not heavy snow as in other parts of the country, but I'm wondering if it is this which has caused a deterioration in reception conditions. Although in a ground floor flat and using only an indoor ribbon aerial about7ft above floor level, facing approx.S.E., I can normally get good reception of all the main FM stations, plus BBC Oxford, CWR, Gloucestershire, Smooth Raidio, & Heart FM from two of it's transmitters. This morning, however, when I tried to tune into 'Sounds of the 60s', all 3 Radio 2 Frequencies (88.3, 88.6, & 89.5Mhz) were fading and almost unlistenable, as were two Classic FM channels, CWR, Glos. & Smooth, the latter on 105.7) are OK-ish, with a small increase in background noise. Is this due to weather conditions? The air pressure is, as might be expected, below normal. The Nearest transmitter is at Lark Stoke, near Shipston-upon-Stour, about 10 miles NW of here,btw.
