Printer problems since switching to W10

Specifically, I used to be able to enlarge and print sections of a page, using my trusty HP Deskjet 3920, but, since upgrading my PC to W10, I cannot print enlarged sections of a page any more.  I can still enlarge pages from, e.g., a service manual, and view them on screen, but sometimes need to print them for use   where I have no access to a PC.  Currently i need to print an enlarged section of a page from a Blaupunkt CDP 05 manualto be able to check the PSU, & remote switching line, but have no option so to do.  Does anyone know how I can restore this function?  I can't, and don't want to, switch back to W7.

When you upgraded to W10, its likely that the printer driver for the  HP Deskjet 3920 was replaced with something generic as the 3920 has long been out of support by HP...

Have you tried something that grabs a screen shot and prints the captured image out?
That is how I do it with Linux.

Somewhere in that Windows support file, there may be an answer, Nick, but I'll have to study it in more detail. No doubt I should just buy a new, W10 compatible, combined printer & scanner, but I'm reluctant to scrap working items. I haven't tried grabbing a screen shot, Refugee. To be honest I'm not certain how that is done!

Use PrtSc (Print Screen) then paste that into Irfanview then "Edit"  and " Crop Selection" then print from Irfanview.

Don't need to do all of that - just use the "Snipping Tool" - far easier... included in Windows Vista and later...

I thought that Microsoft promised that all your existing peripherals would continue to work under W10?

I have a Canon LIDE 60 scanner that works fine with W7 but there is no driver available for Helen's W8 machine - although I understand there is a workaround for it, but have yet to try it.

When I let the W10 upgrade go ahead I don't want to lose the scanner and, for the amount of use it gets, have to buy another ...
