Can this ESR Meter be Calibrated?

This was purchased from an eBay seller almost a year ago.  I built it into a plastic box, and have used it 'as is' frequently since then.  Hoewver, partly due to a comment made by Mark Hennessey in a thread on UKVRRRDF, I'm  wondering if this instrument canbe (should be?) calibrated. but can see no calibration points anywhere on it.  Maybe someone else can? I can remove the PCB from the box lid and photograph the display side if this will help.

Yes. You have to do things with the buttons to set it off in its auto-cal procedure - that should be explained in a PDF I linked to in a previous conversation. At first, you short the 3 test points together, and later in the procedure you are prompted to remove the links and install a capacitor (100n or greater, non-electrolytic).

Obviously, you can get an idea of how well it's performing by testing a range of resistors. If you want to be sure, low-value resistors can be put in series with a large film cap (or preferably several in parallel).

I did see that PDF, Mark, thanks, but wasn't certain whether the info. in it applied to the instrument I have. However I'll check it by following the instructions given there.

If I may answer on Mark's behalf, it's not on this forum, but on the UKVRRRDF forum in their 'Modern Technology' section, Alan. AFAIK that is only accessible to UKVRRRDF members.
