Ghostery!

Recently I tried to download the latest invoice from mt telecoms Provider (Talk Talk as it happens).  Three times it got as far as 'loading your details' or something similar, and wouldn't open the section with the bill details even if left for several minutes.  A few minutes ago, I decided to try again, this time with 'Pause Blocking' selected in the Ghostery Drop-down menu.  Lo and behold, the pages requested were instantly displayed!  The same thing has happened on other perfectly legitimate sites, including the internal search facility on UKVRRRDF, which I've now 'whitelisted'.  Does anyone know why Ghostery objects to, and blocks, some perfectly legitimate websites, whilst allowing others to open?

I suspect these sites are using 3rd party cookies which are blocked by default in Ghostery. I run both AdblockPlus and Ghostery as browser extensions as they give a decent amount of protection, to say nothing of dumping loads of advertisements. Having to whitelist a few sites is a small price to pay.

In my experience the commonest offenders are online ticketing for theatres etc.
