AP Black Book scans

At last I have finished the task I set myself over a year ago to scan and clean up the Technical Manual for the 1936 Marconi-EMI installation at Alexandra Palace. Peter Scott sent me scans and Jeffrey lent me his original copy and thanks to them both, a clean copy is available from my Dropbox site. The files are large (no compression until the final pdf) so it will take a while to download. Please send me a PM if you would like a link.

Alas I'm not a taker for what was undoubtedly a lot of painstaking effort Brian. But I have been wondering on the progress of the 8161 Mirror Lid TV? Perhaps you might like to start a continuation thread on it here? Better still it would make a great BVWS article

Thre's an unfortuante bug in the forum software that means that PMs are not enabled by default.

There has been little or no progress on the BT8161 as I got a bit disheartened by the difficulties I was meeting while trying to get the IF strip going - 4MHz centre frequency with 2.5MHz bandwidth (please see the signature at the bottom of this post!!). However, it is my intention to "get on with it" in the very near future as in the last few months I have bought a very rusty Marconi 707 and a Marconi 702 which is in excellent condition and they are shrieking out to me for attention - but I am determined to get further with the BT8161.
As to continuing my article on this forum, I will keep it on the other site as I view changing as a slight on the other forum and I certainly don't want to give that impression. I am an active member of all three well known sites and they all contribute a huge amount to our hobby.

I had a really nice long chat with Brian on the dog and bone yesterday, Brian is a total gent and a top man for sharing all his hard work.
I've downloaded the files to my laptop and will be keeping a safe copy on the main PC in the shed.

Absolutely agree Brian ... didn't know it was down to technical difficulty ... its the only TV restoration thread I follow not being into them.
