I know that Pye survived  but not in the UK- you can buy Pye electrical in Australia and New Zealand - but this isn't a cheap Chinese rebadged tv...

Interesting that, despite all of the beautiful outdoor locations on that site that there is not one sign of one of these half ton mammoths!

Perhaps they're worried it might spoil the view ...?

It appears to be vibration sensitive requiring a substantial outer frame from which it is suspended rather like some early microphone designs.

I thought it was Marconi who made a coffin camera. (nickname for a huge early colour camera using 3 image orthicon tubes)
