Golborne Swapmeet - 1 Nov 2015

I don't want to wish away what's left of the summer, but it won't be so long before this nice little event will be upon us on Sun Nov 1.

Rather a long trek to Golborne and back in a day for me and 'Mrs Yorkie', from Hull, so we stay over on the Saturday night and on Saturday we visit friends and relatives in Liverpool and on the Wirral. Being cheapskates, we tend to stay in Premier Inns, and once more, have booked a room at the Warrington North East Premier Inn, conveniently located at Golbourne Road, Winwick, Warrington, Cheshire WA2 8LF.  

If you book well in advance, you tend to get rooms at a cheaper rate. I've just booked a room there for 31 Oct at £35.00. ('Saver' rate - no refunds). As the rooms fill up, the price goes up accordingly:

Hurrah! Golborne swap again, 1st November.

It will be my second, no longer a virgin. One of the few northern meetings for vintage radio & TV enthusiasts.

But...... as a bit of a newbie still, could I make a plea that we all wear name/forum name tags ?

Otherwise it is difficult to associate members with their comments and views expressed in the forum.

I always wear a name badge, but I look like the pic in my avatar,  albeit a little older, though no wiser.  Basically, a balding, ageing, bespectacled old buffer, built for comfort - not speed. 'Mrs Yorkie', (who answers to 'Jennifer'), tucks herself away in the corner behind the entry fee desk, patiently reading newspapers, until - as we say in these  parts - 'I've had my fussy out', then we head for home.

And just a reminder that I'll be giving another talk at this meeting. This years talk is on Measurements and an Introduction to Fault Finding. As with the previous years talks there's no need to book.

Hi Gents, I'll see you all there as usual, and again as usual I'll be badged for those that don't know me.
Quite happy to talk about transformers and test equip throughout the meeting
