New BBC micro aimed at schools...

The BBC have introduced a new computer specifically aimed at school kids - this is FAR FAR simpler than the Raspberry Pi but more than adequate to get people going. Arm processor, Bluetooth, compass, accelerometer, two buttons, USB, 27 LEDs in an array... cross-platform programming environment (Windows/Mac/Android/iPhone etc.).

They are going to be given free to 1 million 11-year-olds this autumn...

I have to say, it looks VERY nice.

Trust the BBC to go to the opposite end of the spectrum (sic) from the last time when a B model cost £400 smackers and everybody bought a Speccy instead.
