For many years I used the traditional bucket and sponge then leather to keep our car clean. A couple of years or so ago we were watching the shopping channel Ideal World and Showroom Shine (Greased Lightning) was being demonstrated; we were so impressed we bought a stock and apart from when our car has been exceptionally dirty the Showroom Shine has been used. I've just checked and now find Showroom Shine seems to have disappeared but it's been replaced by Williams?

We traded our Toyota Aygo in three weeks ago and it still looked brand new even though it was almost three years old with 20,000 miles on the clock; it gleamed in the sunshine as seen in the pictures below. I liked the Showroom Shine and still do.
Tomorrow we collect our new Skoda and out of curiosity I've been browsing YouTube to see what is used these days to clean cars and I came across lots of amazing videos such as the one at this link;

It's incredible that someone would pay $15,000 to have a car "Detailed" note no longer described as a wash and polish it is now Detailing? I'm not a petrolhead and these days generally regard our car as transport but I do look after it. If we were loaded this Ferrari is one car I would love to own because I think it is truly fabulous and what an exhaust note.
Carnauba wax appears the way to go and strangely the Showroom Shine is based on Carnauba Wax hence our car looked so good. This is the stuff I use;

I've never heard of a Clay Bar or ever seen car polish which would need a second mortgage to buy before but these guys take it to the extreme. I've looked at lots of YouTube videos and one video shows a high rise block rather better class than Del Boy's where a special lift takes these hugely expensive cars right into the front room of the apartment.
I'm just passing a bit of time today because the weather forecast is normal being dire. Yesterday afternoon I washed and cleaned out the Roomster we have had on loan for over three weeks and this morning whilst out shopping added 140 miles of diesel ready to return the Roomster tomorrow with our thanks. I want to replace double glazing units but this is impossible because I can't even wash the car in peace; yesterday immediately after washing the car down came the rain. Perhaps I would be better bricking the windows up?
I hope the video is of interest; go full screen and turn the sound on; it sure impressed the heck out of me.
11:46 am and here comes the thunder and lightning; the thunder is rattling our bungalow; so much for summer!!
