Thats nice work Al, well done.
Large, high power resistors have also been my method of load testing but what I had always really wanted was a big, electronic load.
Usually though, they are very sought after and command high prices on ebay and elsewhere. Eventually, last year I lucked out on ebay !
This massive AC-DC electronics, EL-750, dual channel load appeared and had been misdescribed as a power supply ! This resulted in me getting it for £40 odd, and it was local !!! It's old school but is superbly built, a genuine lab quality item. It will load upto 100 amps at upto 750 watts of dissipation on BOTH channels ! Need to get a manual though, it's ok on one channel but seems to have a problem on the other but being quite simple it should be easy to sort.
