The circuit does not contain any component values yet (any suggestions welcome)

The valve in the mixer is an EB91.

The object is direct conversion of CW/SSB.

Out of band AM breakthrough needs to be cancelled out.

Comments/ideas welcome.

Pot value 10k lin, two 100pf's connected in series across the pot, VFO/LO injection at the junction of the two said capacitors, transformer 10 turns trifilar.

I would suggest improving the Audio filter response, I seem to remember something in WW (from c30Yrs ago) about a very tight AF filter for this purpose using ferrite pot cores.

Yes, the AF filter would come later, notch and/or narrow band for CW and/or SSB.
